Comfort for the Truckie
Since when has comfort for the truckie become a priority? One of the changes which still rankles for me is the way the fixtures and fittings in trucks became so much better just after I had ended my full-time truck driving career, nearly twenty years ago. After a long career dealing with cramped cabins, unsuspended seats and under-powered engines, it seems that the contemporary driver gets all of the latest creature comforts.

Meritor launches new trailer wheel end program
US axle and suspension expert Meritor has released their first trailer-specific catalogue for the Australian transport market
US axle and suspension expert Meritor has released their first trailer-specific catalogue for the Australian transport market; featuring in excess of 150 pages of axle, wheel end and suspension technology. The publication is now available through Meritor Asia Pacific.
Meritor’s all-new trailer catalogue is more than just a listing of products available in Australia; it’s a comprehensive guide to the global brand’s vast portfolio of trailer-related products – from wheel ends to airbags.
“Due to the increased number of components and parts available worldwide, we felt the timing was right to consolidate our offering in one catalogue,” the company announced.
The brand’s first-ever Australian trailer catalogue now lists all parts starting from the outer end of the axle – including the hubcaps and bearings – all the way to the suspension underneath the trailer. “Parts are easily identifiable and have been based on the description and type of part,” the company said.
“Exploded technical diagrams indicate where each part is and what it corresponds to. We will also have a comprehensive section on Meritor braking kits, which are among our most popular items sold.”
One important aspect Meritor’s Australian clientele can look forward to, is that the catalogue brings together not just the locally manufactured parts, but also the global portfolio. “As an OEM supplier, the catalogue will make it easier for operators to service the spare parts requirements of Meritor and its competitor’s trailer axles.
So when the time for replacement trailer parts arrives, simply visit your local Meritor distributor. They will be able to assist you with the right parts, at the right price and help get your trailer back on the road.
As with all Meritor Aftermarket parts, each comes with a one-year warranty.
