SophistiCAT

Regular readers of ECOcar will be well

aware of our love affair with the Jaguar

XF diesel. The engineering of the

chassis, the performance of the 3.0-litre

diesel and the resulting fuel economy

along with phenomenal flair of design

and styling has kept this genuine grand

touring car at the forefront of our wish

 list.

Now, with the release of the Jaguar XJ,

there’s another element to consider for

those where money is abundant but the

enjoyment of driving is paramount. Both

these factors come together when they

tick the boxes on fuel economy and

efficiency, and select the new Jag.

You have to hand it to the British when

it comes to pomp, ceremony, the

affluent exhibition of style and, in the

case of Jaguar, the blending of walnut

  veneer, leather and driving pleasure.

The XJ is already building on the popularity of the XF, which in June was recognised by the influential JD Power survey as being the best executive model, also scoring second place for owner satisfaction in the UK What Car Magazine survey.

The XJ is literally the next rung up the ladder from the XF. In the UK, the manufacturer has even launched a serious campaign to attract interest from chauffeurs (well it is Britain we are talking about here), with a sales emphasis on placing the XJ as the preferred car in chauffeur operations servicing the major London Hotels.
